In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, much of the East Coast has been decimated...at least with respect to physical assets.
Millions of people have been directly effected one way or another, hundreds of thousands have been displaced and some have even lost their lives.
However, at times like these, we see the good heart come out in many people.
We see how we all check to see how we can help given our own resources.
Whether it is through volunteer work, donating clothing or just opening our arms and taking in those that need help.

We, along with many other NYC Food Trucks and businesses have been trying our best to help those effected.
JetBlue was generous enough to sponsor thousands of meals to give out to those effected; we had the opportunity to give out hundreds of free meals last Friday in Chelsea, NY.

We wanted to do more during the weekend and was short on supplies and fuel.
Some great friends of ours from the neighborhood went out and purchased supplies and some food so we can drive down to the Rockaways and feed 800 people; although it felt great, we really wanted to do more.

The NYCFTA has started an indiegogo fundraising page to do outreach via foodtrucks; funds raised will be used to sponsor trucks to provide food to those in need.
Check out the link here http://www.indiegogo.com/NYCFoodTrucksSandy?c=home

We will continue to do what we can, whether through sponsorship programs or just donating what we can with our friends as we did in the Rockaways on Friday.
